About Hugo

Hugo Anderson was first inspired to become an artist by the Coronation of Napoleon and Josephine painting by Jacques-Louis David at the Louvre in Paris at age 15. After years of painting, Hugo now unveils his own version, Napoleon and Josephine at his art opening this October 17, 2009 – Feb 6, 2010 in Santa Monica, California.
After growing up in Roswell, New Mexico, Hugo Anderson’s art career has taken him to New York, Denver and Los Angeles. The first two paintings that Hugo ever remembers are Blue Boy and Pinkie, which ironically are close-by in Pasadena, California at the Huntington Library. Hugo adds, “What I like about California is people have dreams, and they’re working on it….Everything in the painting has very positive energy.” For his newest work, Hugo shared, “I’ve finally got the skills and the right size studio.”
