The Painting

Hugo Anderson’s Napoleon and Josephine

IMG_4921

When you ask Hugo about his new Napoleon and Josephine painting, he explains, “It’s a painting that’s been developing in my mind since 1961 when I saw the David painting in Paris.” His biggest painting ever, 8ft tall x 16 ft wide, includes a cast of Hollywood characters who you will recognize. He’s never done anything so complex either with 26 people, 2 statues and a Zebra.
